About Richard

Richard Ratcliffe is a territory manager with AMERICAN Flow Control. He attended St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas, where in 1974 he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science. While at St. Edwards University, he was vice president of the Student Government and was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Joining AMERICAN in 1991, Ratcliffe has worked in the waterworks industry for more than 40 years. He lives in Tampa, Fla., and covers Florida’s west coast territory, including north central Florida and Jacksonville. He joined the Florida Section of AWWA in 1984, and has served in various roles including Fall Conference chair, Manufacturers/Associates Council (MAC) chair, and Florida Section chair in 2011-2012. Ratcliffe also helped develop the first MAC New Technology Showcase, which provides training to local utilities. In addition, he received the MAC Council Member Award in 2002 and the Allen B. Roberts Jr. Award for outstanding service to the Florida Section in 2009. Ratcliffe also received the 2014 John Lechner Award of Excellence. This national award is presented at the American Water Works Association Annual Conference and Exhibition and is given to an AWWA Manufacturers/Associates Council member who displays exemplary service to the drinking water community and AWWA’s mission and goals. Ratcliffe was nominated by the AWWA Florida Section, which presented him with the regional Award of Excellence. He is married to Helen Lorenzo Ratcliffe and they are the proud parents of two young adults, Ryan and Kerri.
