Profit sharing bonus plan – Based on profitability, AMERICAN pays bonuses up to four times a year. Employees have the option to defer part or all of their bonuses into the company-sponsored 401(k) retirement savings plan.
401(k) plan – A diversified, tax-deferred investment plan allows employees to build a retirement nest egg. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following employment. After six months, the company matches 50 percent of the first 6 percent of pay the employee contributes and makes an automatic, annual contribution to the employee's 401(k), even if the employee is not contributing. The automatic contribution is based on age plus length of service.
Eagan Center for Wellness – Our award-winning wellness program supports healthy lifestyles with an on-site fitness center, a variety of classes and physical conditioning programs, screenings, personal health coaching, rewards for participation and more. The signature program, WellBody, won the prestigious C. Everett Koop National Health Award for 2014. WellBody provides a road map for employees to attain healthier lifestyles. Those who participate receive monetary incentives - up to $650 - for reducing health risks and maintaining or improving their health status.
Medical and dental insurance – For employees and eligible dependents, group plans cover medical care, dental care, vision care and prescription drugs at prescribed levels. Eligibility begins the first day of the month following employment.
Flexible spending account (FSA) plan – Employees may use this tax-advantaged savings plan to pay for qualified medical expenses not covered by insurance. The plan also offers a dependent care FSA option, an account used to pay for work-related dependent care expenses such as child day care, after-school care, or adult day care.
Eagan College – This program offers on-site opportunities for employees to develop leadership and management skills, learn craft trades, increase job knowledge, and grow personally. It also offers selected courses off site at no cost to employees.
Tuition reimbursement – As part of Eagan College, the company offers tuition reimbursement of up to $5,400 per calendar year for approved courses from an accredited college, university or technical college - once the employee has satisfactorily completed the course(s).
Insurance – AMERICAN provides $15,000 in group life insurance without cost or medical examination to every full-time, regular employee. Employees have the option to purchase more coverage, including spouse and dependent coverage. Also available is voluntary long-term disability insurance.
Paid vacations and holidays – Employees are awarded up to four weeks of paid vacation per year based on length of service and 11 paid holidays annually.
Employee Assistance Program – Confidential counseling and referrals for assistance during a variety of life situations are available to employees 24 hours a day.
